2021 Martin Luther King Jr. Essay Contest

The 2021 Martin Luther King Jr. Essay Contest is now open! Students in grades 6-12 are invited to participate in this contest. Students are being asked to write their essays based on the following quote from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.: “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.” More specific contest information can be found on the Martin Luther King Jr. Essay Contest website, https://iasp.org/students/mlk-jr-essay/. The online submission deadline is February 28, 2021.

Plumbers, Steamfitters, & HVACR Service Technicians Joint Apprenticeship

J.A.T.C. is now accepting applications to their apprenticeship program on a year round basis. 2021-2022 application packets are available M-F from 8AM-1PM or 1PM-4PM on normal business days, at the location listed below: Local 440J.A.T.C. Knights of Pythias Scholarship

The Knights of Pythias are offering 12 students a $1,000 scholarships. Deadline is January 25, 2021. The details and applications can be found on Naviance.

New Scholarship Opportunity

The USDA 1890 National Scholars Program and the USDA 1994 Tribal Scholars Program provides full tuition, fees, books, and a summer internship which may convert to full-time employment with the USDA after graduation. The scholarship is open to students pursuing an agriculture or agriculture-related bachelor's degree at certain institutions. Please visit www.USDA.gov/partnerships SOON! CRG - Linda Elaine Maloy Education Scholarship

CRG Residential, LLC, will award a one-time $5,000 scholarship to one deserving graduating high school senior, who has suffered the loss of a parent, parental figure, or immediate family member, or whose family is currently facing a health-related issue that has created emotional and/or financial hardship for the student and his/her family. This scholarship will be awarded based on character, attitude and perseverance in the face of difficult times.
